Fall Vintage Door Hutch-Video
Fall Vintage Door Hutch
The weather is starting to cool down, the days are getting shorter, and the leaves on the trees are beginning to turn colors. I can feel that we are finally nearing the end of this long, hot summer. I have to confess….Autumn is my very favorite time of year! I have been pulling out all my fall décor and putting away all hints of summer. What do you think of my new hall tree? Isn’t this Repurposed Vintage Door Hutch just the cutest thing all decked out for fall? I love how the white chippy paint and all the old woods blend with the fall colors. Can you see the old door with it’s hinges will attached?
In this grouping, I used a wheat bundle, pine cones, acorns, pumpkins, dried flowers and leaves with hints of yellow and burnt orange to my fall vignettes.
The wheat bundle I found at Home Goods. They usually have a nice collection of them to pick from and it’s a fun place to go. Seems I always find something I like in there.
Incidentally, I had a cool antique bottle given to me from my great-grandmother, that I had placed on the shelf next to the wheat bottle, but I accidentally hit it with my hand when I was styling the shelf and it fell and shattered on the floor…I nearly cried! Don’t you hate it when you break something sentimental that can’t be replaced? I replaced it with this amber colored bottle from Target.
The brown plate was a garage sale find (aren’t garage sales the best, especially when you pick up stuff for next to nothing?), and the metal, chippy, weathered metal vase I found at a thrift store. All the white stoneware pitchers shown are antiques that I have collected over the years.
This metal Pumpkin sign was picked up at Michael’s last year and I was lucky it fit perfectly inside the little window shelf.
Old faded books with the aged pages always blend in nicely with fall decor and I just love to decorate with them. They go with anything! The “Fall Sweet Fall” sign I found at Michaels last year.
Rod Works had these cute, wooden candle holders last time I visited and couldn’t resist picking up a pair of them. I love the little circle of white-washed beads on them.
I bought this sweet rustic birdhouse just recently at Home Goods. The old wood and corrugated tin roof give it a country feel and because I love bird houses, I couldn’t resist putting a fall themed pip berry garland interspersed with sunflowers around it.
These dried flowers were bought last year from Hobby Lobby and the velvet pumpkins from Safeway. Both the flowers and pumpkins were bought for 75% off. That’s my kind of sale!
The weathered lantern hanging on the hook was picked up at a local antique store, but it is not old.
One thing I love about this piece is are the 2 black hooks at the top. They are handy to hang lanterns, wreaths, garland and many other things that I have.
It is certainly rustic!
I am enjoying the change in decor AND in the weather! It was awful hot this summer where I live and we thought it would never cool down!
I hope you enjoyed my refurbished hall tree. Thanks for visiting! Happy Fall!

Oh I would love to know where you found this or did you make this from an antique door?
Tee
Hi Claudia!
It was made from an antique door! This hutch was a gift from my parents, but I love it so much that I’m thinking about doing a tutorial on how to make one. 🙂

I love your hutch, Tee, as well as how beautifully you have decorated it with such carefully curated items. I’m so sorry about your Grandma’s antique bottle. I would have nearly cried too. Hi Tiffany, I totally fell in love with your hutch from an old door. I have a thing about old doors and this was a great idea. Thanks for sharing all your sources for fall goodies. I haven’t been out in so long to shop, this really gave me a boost. I’m featuring it at All About Home Monday evening!

I absolutely love your vintage door hutch! I’ve seen many door upcycles, but this is the first I’ve seen as a hutch. Did you build it? Pinning for future reference!
Tee
Thank you Ann! It was a gift from my parents. I love it too!

I do love this! I’m not clear—did you make the hutch or find it somewhere? It has such charm, and your decorating really is lovely!
Tee
Hi Laurie, My parents gave me the hutch and I love it too! Thank you for the sweet comments and for visiting today!
Barbara Chapman
Tee, I LOVE your cupboard and how you’ve decorated it for fall! I am sorry I didn’t get over sooner but I did share your post at last week’s Share Your Style #283, just before Thanksgiving, which to me was perfect. <3 I totally love how you've got old posts in there and corrugated tin, the old wood for a hutch shelf, and the old door… Love it!!! And I have some similar black hooks! I've been looking for the right old piece to make a shelf/hanger for our laundry room and I'll put the two hooks on it.
Enjoy your week and happy decorating for Christmas,
Hugs,
Barb 🙂
