Patriotic Fife and Drum Display

Patriotic Fife and Drum Display

How do you like my patriotic fife and drum display this year?  Aren’t they adorable?  These cute little soldiers symbolize the colonial period of our country and its struggle for freedom.  When I see the stars and stripes with the red, white and blue, it makes me proud to be an American, doesn’t it you?

Many times we forget how hard earned our freedoms are and how many lives were lost fighting for them. I am so thankful for those who sacrificed so that we could all be free.

This display has been one of my all time favorites!  I like to set up my patriotic decor before Memorial Day so I can keep them up through the 4th of July! Do you do that too?

Supplies:

(FYI, None of these links are sponsored links! I’m just letting you know where I found them)

These Byers Choice figurines are larger than they look in pictures and are so cute together! I bought both the fife and drum figurines HERE.

The Byers Choice flag holder figurine I found on Ebay but you could buy another fife player and get a vintage style flag to have him hold.

This vintage style, burlap, USA banner, made by Bethany Lowe, was found at a little shop nearby.

The little fuzzy ball garland draped across the picture was homemade!  I bought the bag of sparkly Pom Poms at Hobby Lobby.  I alternated one large and one small, etc. with the red, white and blue theme by sewing them on a looooooong thread!  They were easy to make and they look festive to me!  What do you think?

I purchased the wooden red, white & blue star last year on clearance at Pottery Barn last year.  The star hangs on a little wooden platform with two hooks that stick out. It is easier to store when taken apart.

The Star Spangled Banner Patriotic place mat made by Park Designs was bought Here. I love the raggedy edges and the loose hand stitching along each white stripe.

These little guys are so detailed!  I think that is why I like them so much!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I wish you all a very happy and safe 4th of July!

If you like this display, let me know in the comments!  I LOVE to hear from you!

  8. So sweet! Love your Byer’s Choice figurines..They are made in our state of Pa. here. It is on my Bucket list to go for the factory tour. Our local TV Home show did a segment on them and it is truly amazing to see how they are hand made!!

Thank you so much Debbie! I have never been to the factory, but I sure do love my patriotic ones! I would like to see how they are made myself. Thanks for visiting!

  9. I love the little figures! I live in Marblehead, MA. Where we take the Revolutionary war quite seriously. It’s wonderful to have a spot decorated indoors as many will not be celebrating the Fourth as usual this year.

  17. I had to check this post out, because I used to be in a fife and drum corps! I found an old picture of my husband and me, back when we were teenagers (I’m playing the fife). Your little soldiers are surprisingly authentic–they would be Virginians.

BTW, I found my way here from Grammy’s Grid.

How awesome, Bethany! I bought mine from Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, in a little shop there! How fun to have been a part of the re-enactment of that time period!! I love your costumes! Thanks for sharing your picture!!
