This is a great spinoff to the ever popular green bean casserole and I’m always the nominee to bring this dish when the holidays come around. It’s creamier and cheesier than the original recipe and like I always say, cheese makes EVERYTHING better, right???
It’s Christmas eve and I’m actually going to head to the kitchen in a few to whip up a batch for tonight’s dinner, but I wanted to share so that you can try it too, YUM!!!
Ingredients and Supplies:
***you’ll need an 8 or 9 square inch pan or casserole dish for baking***
- 3 cans of green beans
- 1 or 2 cups of cheese (In the past I’ve used Colby jack, cheddar, mozzarella and it all came out great!)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 or two bags of fried onions (I love LOTS of onions because of the crunchiness, so I make sure to have extra)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Dump the green beans into a large bowl
Add the cream of mushroom soup and mix in
Add and mix in the sour cream
Throw in the cheese
Then mix in one or two cups of fried onions (I like a lot so I add 2 cups!)
Mix it all up
Dump into a an 8 or 9 square inch pan or casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes, uncovered
After 30 minutes pull it out
Cover the top with more fried onions and bake uncovered for 5 minutes (remember I like LOTS because of the crunchiness, so add as much as you like!)
Time to eat! Mmmmmm 🙂
